If you would like to experiment with the FIWARE GEs and APIs, you will be able to do so in FIWARE LAB (https://account.lab.fiware.org/) by making use of any of the off the shelf public GE instances available to FIWARE LAB users (Orion, Cosmos, IDAS, CKAN..), or by deploying your own private instance of any of the FIWARE GEs. You just need to register and obtain a FIWARE LAB account, so that you can start experimenting with FIWARE components, and be able to easily integrate those that are interesting for you in order to use them as part of your backend application logic.

I suggest to have a look at the FIWARE Catalogue https://catalogue.fiware.org/ to identify the GEs of your interest, and better understand the functionaly each of them can offer for you. There you will find pointers to the detailed documentation for each of them and the available public instances that are offered in FIWARE LAB.
