Hi,

Do we have any support in IoT or Security chapters to support "Device pairing"? i.e. any modules, APIS,etc. to associate users with a mobile device or to an appliance, etc. as used in mobile apps or in home automation scenarios?

Or does one need to write custom code to achieve such a system?

Thanks,

ilknur

Hi, That is not the way the FIWARE IoT model works as long as devices and their measurements and actions are translated into data objects at the NGSI level (attributes and command attributes). Data (attributes) may belong to specific groups of users (or even a single user) via the IDM security enab

Sorry for the late answer I am not sure what you mean exactly because the implicit acceptation of device pairing would be between devices rather than between devices and users. What we have is the association between devices and entities in the sense used by FIWARE, and users can be such entities. But the description of such associations in the current version of NGSI is rather awkward and we are discussing how to change it in the evolution of NGSI. The associations process itself is not directly supported and has to be done manually, in the course of the configuration process

Hello, as far as the Security chapter is concerned, unfortunately we don't provide such a feature.
